Birth Doula Support
A Birth Doula offers continuous support to laboring mothers and their partners, anywhere that may be! They suggest physical comfort measures, provide emotional support and encouragement, as well as enhance communication between the mother and medical professionals. Doulas are mindful of helping a partner become involved in the birth to the extent that they feel comfortable. They cheer on their laboring clients and have wisdom that comes from experience to help everyone keep perspective.
The Birth Package includes:

One home visit to create & go over a birth wishes and "comfort for childbirth" review

24 hour phone/email access to Linda for questions and concerns during your "due window"

Continuous physical and emotional support from early labor through the birth of your baby, including many comfort techniques

One postpartum visit to discuss the birth, offer feeding support, provide appropriate referrals and admire your baby!

Postpartum Doula Support
Postpartum Doulas are people who love to support families taking their “first steps” together. They are trained to support, encourage and help families meet the challenges of their transition with confidence.
These services are customizable and can include:
Physical Comfort

Help Mother to care for her postpartum body

Support Mother with breastfeeding

Allow Mom to rest, shower and nurture herself

Help Mom eat properly and drink plenty of fluids
Emotional support for the new Family

Listen and help process the birth story

Validate the normal adjustment process

Support Mother through a time of emotional vulnerability

Support Father through his transition to his new role
-
Provide community resources as needed
-
Provide non-judgmental support and companionship

Make appropriate referrals when necessary
Infant care

Demonstrate infant care techniques such as diapering, bathing, and swaddling

Teach and demonstrate Infant soothing and coping techniques

Help parents to develop their own style of nurturing and bonding with baby

Providing infant care so parents can get some rest.
Household assistance

Prepare light meals and snacks for the new mother and family

Nursery and feeding station organization

Run errands and do food shopping

Light household duties such as unloading the dishawasher
